CONRAIL'S 23 year history concluded on June 1, 1999 when it was divided between CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern. Conrail's New York Central System/Boston & Albany Route between these namesake cities was a major part of Conrail's system. The Boston Line, as Conrail called it, was sold to CSX, and Volume Two of CLEAR BLOCK PRODUCTIONS' video CONRAIL'S CONCLUSION - THE BOSTON LINE follows this scenic route beginning at the Connecticut River in Springfield, MA, to Selkirk Yard south of Albany, NY. TV trains, Amtrak, and tonnage freights behind SD-80MAC's and C30-7's claw their way across the Berkshire Mountains at locations including Westfield, Huntington, Chester, Becket, Washington, Hinsdale, Pittsfield, State Line, Chatham, the A.E. Smith Bridge, Selkirk Yard, and more!
