Pentrex takes you from Penn Station, in New York City, north to Albany/Rensselaer on a tour of the Hudson Division. This is FL-9 country, and you will climb aboard one of these classic diesels for a cab ride up the line. Trackside footage of the many scenic spots to be found along the route adds to the excitement of our tour. The line is home to both Metro North's and Amtrak's fleet of Electro-Motive FL-9 diesel-electric/electrics. These unique locomotives are the highlight of our tour, but we'll also see Amtrak Turbos, Metro North MU cars, and Conrail freights. The Hudson River is a scenic waterway, coursing past rugged mountains and quaint little towns. This area is a railroad photographer's paradise, with its beautiful vistas, charming old railway stations, and plentiful lineside action.
